Knowledge
Upload files your agent can search during a call.
Knowledge holds the facts an agent should look up rather than memorize: FAQs, price lists, policies, opening hours. During a call, the agent searches it when a caller asks something its instructions don't answer.
Upload a document
- Open the agent and select Knowledge in the sidebar.
- Upload a
.txtor.mdfile. - Wait for the status to change from Processing… to Ready. This takes a few seconds for most files.
The agent can use a document as soon as it is Ready. You don't need to deploy.
Every agent gets a knowledge base named Default when you create it, so there is nothing to set up first.
Limits
| Item | Limit |
|---|---|
| File types | .txt, .md |
| File size | 50 MiB per file |
| Results per search | 5 by default, up to 20 |
To upload a PDF or web page, convert it to Markdown first. Plain text with clear headings searches best.
How the agent uses it
Speko splits each document into short sections and indexes them. On a call, the agent calls a built-in search_knowledge_base tool with the caller's question and reads the best-matching sections.
The tool is only offered to the agent while at least one document is Ready. An agent with an empty knowledge base never tries to search it.
To check what the agent found, open the call under Sessions and look at the tool activity on that turn.
Fix a failed document
A document marked Failed could not be processed. Delete it and upload a fresh copy.
