Set up an AI phone receptionist for your small business from Muse chat.
The Speko connector for Meta Muse sets up an AI phone receptionist for your business from chat. Add it in Muse with this endpoint:
https://muse.speko.ai/mcpMuse signs you in with OAuth (PKCE). If you don't have a Speko account, you can create one during sign-in. The connector is available in the US and Canada to people 18 and older.
The receptionist answers inbound calls to your business. It can also place outbound calls. Every call starts with the receptionist saying it is an AI.
Set up a receptionist
Each step below is one message to Muse. Muse asks before it runs a tool that changes anything.
1. Describe your business
Set up a phone receptionist for my business using my website, example.com.
Speko reads your public website and returns a preview. It shows the greeting, what the receptionist will say and never do, and any facts it still needs. Answer those questions in chat, or correct details:
We close at 6 on Fridays, and a haircut is $40.
Nothing is live yet. The receptionist answers no calls until you go live.
2. Run a test call
Run a test call so I can check the receptionist.
Speko runs a simulated call: an AI caller talks to your receptionist. No phone number is used and no phone rings. Muse shows you the transcript and recording. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until it sounds right.
After you go live, you can also call your new number from your own phone to hear the receptionist on a real call.
3. Go live
Go live. My business number is (415) 555-0100.
Speko gives you a new US or Canadian phone number for the receptionist. It also returns the call-forwarding code for your carrier, plus the code that turns forwarding off again. The default is overflow mode: your business phone rings first, and only missed or busy calls reach the receptionist. You can ask for every call to go to the receptionist instead.

Muse tells you to call your business number from a different phone. Speko reports whether the forwarded call reached the receptionist.
4. Manage it
After each call you get an email summary. Turn on privacy mode to get a link only, with no caller details in the email:

Pause my receptionist.
Pausing stops answering right away and keeps your number, so resuming brings it back as it was. The number is still billed monthly while paused. Undo carrier forwarding if callers should only ring your business phone.
Cancel my receptionist.
Cancelling stops answering and releases the number Speko bought for you, which ends its monthly charge. A released number cannot be recovered. Muse shows the code that undoes carrier forwarding.
Connect a calendar
Connect my Google Calendar.
Speko supports Google Calendar and HighLevel. Muse gives you a single-use link to a Speko page that names the workspace you are connecting. Confirm there, then sign in to the calendar provider.
By default the receptionist only checks your availability and takes booking requests. You confirm each booking yourself.
Payments and limits
Calls use prepaid credits. New accounts receive starter credit. To add credits, Muse opens Stripe Checkout, which accepts Link, cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. No tool moves money on its own; each payment happens on the Stripe page.
You can set an optional monthly spending cap. Some phone numbers require a short business compliance profile before they can be used.
Data and safety
- Your data is stored in the US.
- Every call starts with an AI disclosure. No prompt can turn it off.
- Calls are recorded only when the greeting announces it.
- Speko does not create voiceprints of callers or owners.
