Speko Docs
Quickstart

Build an agent in the dashboard

Create a voice agent, talk to it, give it knowledge, and put it on a phone number. No code.

By the end of this page you have a live voice agent that answers in the browser and on a phone number. You need a Speko account and about ten minutes.

1. Create the agent

Open Agents and click Add agent.

The builder is a chat. Pick a starter such as Receptionist or Customer support, or describe the agent in your own words: who it serves, what it should do, and when it should hand off. When the summary looks right, click Create agent.

Prefer a form? Click Configure manually. A name, a language, and instructions are the only required fields. Voice defaults to Automatic, which lets Speko pick one.

The agent is live as soon as you create it.

2. Talk to it

On the screen that follows, click Talk to your agent and allow microphone access. Speak to it the way a caller would.

Later, use the Test button at the top of any agent page. Choose Browser to talk from your laptop, or Phone call to have the agent dial your phone. Every test opens as a session with a transcript and recording under Sessions.

3. Give it knowledge

Open the agent and select Knowledge in the sidebar. Upload .txt or .md files: an FAQ, a price list, opening hours. Each file shows Ready within a few seconds.

The agent searches these files during a call when a caller asks something its instructions don't cover. See Knowledge for limits.

4. Put it on a phone number

Open Phone numbers and click Buy a number.

  1. Complete the one-time business declaration: your business name and what the number is for.
  2. Search by area code or city and pick a number.
  3. Under Assign to agent, pick your agent, then click Buy this number.

Call the number. Your agent answers.

To use a number you already own, click Import number instead and bring it over SIP.

5. Change it safely

Edit anything under Configuration, then click Save draft. Callers keep talking to the live version until you click Deploy.

While a draft exists, the bar at the bottom has a Testing: Draft / Live switch. Test the draft first, then deploy. Every deploy creates a numbered version you can restore. See Deploy and roll back.
